In 2017, executives at Honest Abe Roofing started working on a proprietary machine that would produce their custom steel shingles onsite. After devising and then perfecting this revolutionary machine to meet the company’s installation needs, the Indiana-based franchise is now set to unveil the machine on its job sites across the country.
“There is simply nothing like this on the market today,” says Jason Revere, vice president of franchise development for Honest Abe Roofing Franchise. “It’s a mobile unit that sits in a trailer and is loaded with coils of steel or aluminum. The machine then presses these coils into steel/aluminum shingles, creating a seamless row with unlimited length that is then easily installed onto the home’s roof.”
Honest Abe Roofing, franchising since 2017, is now America’s largest roofing franchise. The reason they have grown so quickly is due to their proprietary business model that is focused on marketing and sales. This new machine will give our franchisees a huge advantage in their territories by allowing them to offer an exclusive product line.
“The machine has two different profiles,” Revere says. “It can provide a dimensional look, offering the appearance of traditional shingles, but it can also be tooled to give the look of natural slate. No matter which look the homeowner chooses, the product will never decay, age or fade.”
The machine installs Honest Abe’s Enviro-Steel shingles, which comprise a new, environmentally friendly roofing system made with 25% recycled material. “These shingles have a Class 4 hail impact rating and a Class A fire rating – the highest in the industry,” Revere says. “They are highly durable, algae proof, and can withstand 160 mph gusts of wind.”
And the new installation method allows Honest Abe Roofing to offer its products at an even more economical price point. “Our prices already allow homeowners to get a roof they want at a price they can afford,” Revere says. “This new installation process helps us to seamlessly deliver our quality products at even more affordable prices.”
