Dave Robertson grew up as the son and brother of a pastor and felt drawn to ministry during his fourth year of college. He went on to play an instrumental role in establishing one of the largest United Methodist Churches in the world. After discussing retirement plans with his wife, Diane, he turned to God for guidance.
“One day, I was driving my car and the word ‘vending’ popped into my head,” said Robertson. “I can’t tell you the last time I purchased something from a vending machine. About five minutes later, the name ‘Super Dave’s Snack Emporium’ popped into my mind.”
He researched vending companies and turned to a good friend who specializes in business start-ups. Then, he presented his friend with his top three selections.
“He told me it was a no-brainer. Naturals2Go wins all of the awards for helping people start their businesses,” said Robertson. “I bought eight vending machines in January 2020.”
However, the COVID-19 pandemic hit around the time Robertson was scheduled to complete training.
“Naturals2Go quickly shifted from live to remote training,” explained Robertson. “People couldn’t go out for lunch during that time, so having machines capable of vending healthy and fresh meals was a great advantage.”
By February 2021, Robertson was the owner of 15 machines. After completing tech support training, he was asked to provide coaching and in-market training.
“I love teaching and coaching, so I readily accepted. After becoming a coach, they asked if I would help reshape the coaching program,” said Robertson. “This is one of the things I love about Naturals2Go. They constantly want to improve their systems and operations.”
Looking to expand, Robertson brought in a new business partner, Eric White. Together, they expanded Super Dave’s Snack Emporium to 130 machines, and their goal is to continue to grow.
“Our goals are simple: provide excellent customer service, bless someone every day and have some fun along the way,” said Robertson.
Blessing others is a big part of Super Dave’s Snack Emporium. Through scholarships, donations, meal offerings for those in need and job offers for community members, Robertson and his team plan to continue to make a difference for years to come.
