A Day In The Life Of A Franchisee

Shelley McCauley knows a thing or two about juggling responsibilities.
As a mom to six kids, ranging in age from 9 months (twin boys!) to 16 years, McCauley’s days are jam-packed. Her Naturals2Go vending business is perfect for her lifestyle.

“I make my own schedule. We make vending fit into the cracks available in our schedule. You don’t get this kind of flexibility doing anything else,” she said.

McCauley is grateful for the freedom that Naturals2Go provides.
“Our lives revolve around our family and our faith. We want to be a part of the community and invest in our kids’ futures. Vending is the vehicle that provides for that,” she explained.

She added, “This can be such an amazing business. You can go from the red to the black in a year or two. There’s nothing else you can invest in that has the kind of return that vending does.”

McCauley and her husband, Michael, run and operate 20 machines in Minnesota. Below is a peek at how she structures a typical day:

5 a.m. McCauley starts her day early. She wakes the babies and gets the older children ready for school.

8:30 a.m. After school drop-off, she and the twins head to their storage office, where they house all vending supplies. McCauley takes stock of what they need and places orders. She also pulls products for her husband, who fills inventory orders after getting off his FedEx shift later in the morning.

11 a.m. It’s nap time for the babies, so the trio heads home. Once there, McCauley, a coaching captain for Naturals2Go, helps other coaches support their operators.

2:15 p.m. McCauley picks up the kids from school. She tries to get as much done as possible in what she calls “the chaos that ensues”! After-school activities take place every night, so once her husband gets home from filling machines around 4 p.m., they divide and conquer.

5:30 p.m. The McCauley family sits down for dinner and share precious time together. Afterward, McCauley continues coaching before wrapping up the day.
