Moran Family of Brands is proud to support community involvement both locally and nationally by giving back to several organizations including the Alzheimer’s Association, Together We Cope and Vet Fran. Additionally, Moran Family of Brands created the Gary Goodgear Emergency Assistance Foundation to support its franchisees and others who are experiencing hardships.

According to Pete Baldine, president, franchise owners continue the brand’s commitment to giving back. “To our great pleasure, many of our franchisees have embraced that culture and have followed through in their own local markets with some outstanding efforts that we are very proud of,” he said.

Danny O’Rourke, a 28-year franchisee of Mr. Transmission San Antonio, holds an annual car show with his car club and has raised as much as $22,000 of which 100% of the proceeds are donated to Magdalena House, a local charity for trafficked women. For Christmas, the car club buys gifts for women and children and delivers them with Santa in a convertible car. O’Rourke also sponsors a local high school, the National Future Farmers of America Organization and Little League teams, and he has participated in car washes and walk-a-thons for the Alzheimer’s Association events as well.

Jason Kuriger, franchisee of Mr. Transmission/Milex Crest Hill, Illinois, has implemented a teacher program that offers 15% off parts and labor for school district employees. As a child, Kuriger, who attended 10 schools and moved 13 times from ages 5 to 18, never felt like he fit in. Coming from a difficult home situation financially, he would help his teachers and clean tables in the lunchroom to earn hot meals and cookies.

“I’ve been able to see the other side of some very good teachers that helped shape my life and who I am as a man,” Kuriger shared.

When Kuriger invested in Moran Family of Brands, he was finally able to implement this teacher discount program as a way to give back. By being fair, honest and helping those who played an important part in his life, Kuriger has grown his franchise from two to seven technicians and has quintupled the previous owner’s business model.
