Patrice Rice, the founder of Mosquito Sheriff, saw a need in the community for a completely green, completely natural method of mosquito and pest control. She drew from her extensive history in franchising to create a business that has the success of the franchisee and the quality of the service at heart. We asked Patrice to explain a little more about her revolutionary new company.

What does Mosquito Sheriff do, and what sets it apart from other pest-control companies?

Mosquito Sheriff is an all-green, all-natural mosquito-control company. We provide effective mosquito-control treatment to local communities, that is safe for children, pets and the environment, unlike other companies that use harmful chemicals. Now more than ever, consumers are looking for safer solutions for their homes. We also use backpack sprayers with recyclable energy powered by battery, not gas, making them safer for the applicator and the environment. Mosquito Sheriff also handles the sales for the franchisee, and our call center handles all the inbound calls and web inquiries.

What could you say to a potential franchisee to help them take the first step?

This business has everything you are looking for: recurring revenue, repeat customers, providing a needed service in your community, and we handle the sales. It doesn’t matter if you are looking for a full-time business or if you want to keep your full-time job, this business could be right for you.

What training and support do you provide to new franchisees?

Although this particular concept is newer, our franchise team has a combined 50 years of franchise experience. We have in-person training in Maryland, where franchisees will ride along with a current operator. They will also go through classroom learning on the marketing and sales side of the business. The chemist who created our proprietary product is on our staff to help answer product questions.

What else do you want people to know about your brand and franchise?

This can be a great franchise for anyone. This is a business you can feel good about, as we offer a service to keep the local community safe, and we partner on important social missions, like providing mosquito netting to countries in need. This can also be a great full-time or semi-absentee business. Many people desire to diversify their income, and this is a model where you can keep your full-time job and hire technicians to do the spraying.
