After traveling throughout the U.S. working for different corporations for many years, Tammy and Scott Fitzpatrick decided they were ready for a different kind of opportunity. After a long time of exploring different franchise brands, they connected with Mark Setterington, CEO and founder of Island Fin Poké Co.
They fell in love with the brand’s concept as well as one of their top corporate core values, the Hawaiian word “‘Ohana” which means “family.” According to Tammy, the corporate level lives and breathes this value with each of its franchisees.
“We did a lot of research, and we were really intentional about finding a company that we would align with,” said Tammy.
Island Fin Poke Co.’s overall concept of clean, healthy food was a big plus for the Fitzpatricks, who have four children with dietary sensitivities.
The couple’s oldest son is currently serving in the military, while their younger children are actively working in the restaurant. The family has enjoyed working side by side, and the children are learning some amazing business operations and life skills that will help them in whatever they choose to do in the future. Being able to teach their children as well as learn from them has been a fun dynamic for Tammy and Scott’s family.
Being a part of the supportive, nurturing, always available and helpful Island Fin Poké Co. family has given the Fitzpatricks the tools needed to be successful while navigating through unfamiliar territory as new franchisees. The Fitzpatricks also appreciate the structure and support systems offered by Setterington and his team.
“We know we are going to be successful in this space, not only because of the relationship we have with the corporate team and this value concept of ‘Ohana, but also because of their knowledge, and we feel that every single day,” said Tammy.
The Fitzpatrick’s Nashville Island Fin Poké Co. has successfully built strong community relationships since launching this past May. Guests are able to come in and connect with them on a personal level, and the Fitzpatrick family has embraced becoming part of their community in return.
