They key to franchise success? Happy, profitable, engaged franchisees. When your franchisees are happy and profitable, they’re better ambassadors for your brand, and your system will thrive and grow.

We’ve seen this situation play out over and over again. The happier and more successful you can help your current franchisees be, the more your system succeeds.

The question then becomes: How do you level up your franchise and support your current franchisees for success?

The answer? Having support in place such as training, resources, skill development opportunities, and perhaps most importantly: ongoing strategic growth coaching.

Strategic growth coaching for your franchisees is a proactive approach to franchisee success, instead of a reactive or “hotline support” approach.

Strategic growth coaching focuses more on getting buy-in and engagement from your franchisees by discovering their personal goals for their business.

When you understand your franchisee’s vision for success, you can help them set 10-year goals, 3-year goals, etc., and map out the action steps to help them get there.

This method for coaching works well because it empowers your franchisees, increases their engagement and accountability, and turns your system’s goals into their goals.

To implement this kind of coaching, the first step is to assess what coaching systems you currently have in place by talking to your existing franchisee support team.

Are there regular calls scheduled with your franchisees? What do those calls look like? What kind of goal setting do your franchisees do? What kind of accountability is in place?

Once you know what is currently in place, you can start to shift and align everyone’s mindset and introduce strategic growth coaching.

To implement strategic growth coaching, you’ll want to get buy-in from your team and owners, put a coaching strategy and schedule in place and ensure you have the right coaches on your team and they’re trained to understand the process and results.
