Emma Dickison is a leader with a mission. As CEO and president of Home Helpers® Home Care, she leads a senior-care franchise that marked a quarter-century of experience this year, helping families and their aging loved ones by providing a host of industry-leading in-home services.

“As a nationwide leader in the space, we have built a reputation based on trust that provides exceptional in-home care,” Dickison said. “A new Home Helpers Home Care franchisee opening their doors today in 2022 isn’t starting a business from scratch; they are bringing over 25 years of world-class care to their community.”

That experience has allowed the Ohio-based Home Helpers Home Care to view aging from a unique perspective. Having grown alongside the aging U.S. population, it now provides care in over 1,000 communities nationwide and is thriving.

“We’ve seen double-digit compound annual growth over the past 10 years and have had strong year-over-year growth every year since we were founded in 1997,” said Dickison, who came on board in 2007.

She was drawn to Home Helpers Home Care from personal experience. Caregiving has long been a part of her family, beginning with her grandmother, and then her parents and other relatives needed help at home. “I understand what our clients and their families experience and the benefits and peace of mind exceptional care can provide,” she said.

According to AARP, nearly 90% of adults 65 and older want to remain in their homes as they age. Home Helpers Home Care offers an array of services designed to help seniors age in place. Its Cared-4℠ program, Dickison said, “is unlike anything else available in the industry and is revolutionizing how care is delivered.” With Cared-4, the franchise expanded its services to include nutrition and meal preparation, wellness calls and around-the-clock monitoring technology even when a caregiver isn’t in the home.

In addition to nonmedical personal care and companionship, franchisees have the option to add medical care as their business grows. Home Helpers Home Care also assists new moms and families, patients coming home from illness or injury, and people with chronic illnesses.

“Our National Support Center team provides world-class support that includes home care industry veterans as well as team members who have owned their own successful businesses prior to joining Home Helpers Home Care,” Dickison said. “Our Innovation Council, comprised of seasoned Home Helpers Home Care franchisees from across the country, works with leadership to help shape our innovation and technology roadmap to enhance and grow the business.”

The home care industry is booming, despite the effects of the pandemic, rising inflation and an accelerated need for caregivers. “As the nation’s aging population continues to outpace other age groups, this growth is projected to continue for years to come,” Dickison said. “That’s why Home Helpers Home Care is such a great option for those looking to enter the industry.

If you’re an aspiring business owner, have a passion for people, a drive for success and are willing to follow a proven business model, Home Helpers Home Care may be the right fit for you. No experience in home care or healthcare is required.

“Our franchisees are very broad and diverse in their professional experiences and perspectives. We’re pretty evenly split between male and female franchisees, and I think that is very rich and good,” Dickison said.
