When Crown Prince Ludwig married Princess Therese of Sachsen-Hildburghausen in October of 1810, the father of the groom spared no expense on what was later deemed the reception of the century. Serving top-of-the-line food and free-flowing beer to some 40,000 guests, the king is credited with hosting the most successful wedding in Bavarian history. It was so successful that the groom repeated the function the following year. The world-famous event that we now know as Oktoberfest was born.
More than two centuries later, the festival still exists (despite taking a two-year break due to the pandemic) and annually attracting more than six million visitors to Munich during the two-week event. And Hofbräuhaus of America, the world-famous restaurant brand that has authentically transferred the Bavarian lifestyle and beer culture to the American and Canadian markets, is keeping the tradition alive.
A big part of the eatery’s brand identity, Hofbräuhaus’ Oktoberfest events start in September and continue through October. Special events vary across all Hofbräuhaus locations. At Hofbräuhaus Las Vegas, celebrity keg tappers and food specials are all part of the fun. But at each and every franchise, the world-famous Oktoberfestbier from Hofbräu München is the star of the show.
Full-bodied and palatable with a slightly sweet finish, this is the authentic and original Oktoberfestbier actually served at the Munich Oktoberfest and exported around the world. Featuring a rich, golden color, the beer is brewed with a blend of four exquisite Hallertauer hops and three specially selected Bavarian malts. The aroma is filled with fresh, fruity hops and the flavor is rich, a perfect pairing for roast pork, chicken and hard cheeses.
Offering four different concepts – brew pub, large restaurant, small restaurant, and Hofbräu Express – the franchisor is widely recognized for its mouthwatering cuisine and beer that is brewed according to the German Purity Law of 1516 and proudly served to patrons in 41 countries.
