GIVING BACK

Hammer & Nails is in the business of making people feel good by providing luxury grooming services to a diverse clientele. The brand provides a space where luxury meets self-care, offering popular services, including haircuts, shaves and hand-and-foot treatments.

Hammer & Nails is committed to impacting communities positively, and it does so by supporting local initiatives and charities, creating job opportunities, creating mentorships and partnering with local organizations, such as shelters and youth programs.

Diaz Dixon, franchise owner and area representative for Hammer & Nails’ Nevada and Idaho locations, is proud to own the brand’s fastest-opening shop. He attributes this achievement to the community that has supported him from the start.

“People don’t typically think much of Reno, Nevada, but we are a little powerhouse,” said Dixon.

Dixon was born and raised in Las Vegas, where his roots are firmly planted. His wife, Heather, is from Middleton, Idaho, and both feel a strong connection to the areas he represents. Dixon’s commitment to both communities, combined with the support, guidance and training offered by Hammer & Nails, were instrumental in enabling his team to achieve rapid success. In addition to receiving hands-on support during the opening process, the franchise provided Dixon’s team with training courses to lay a robust foundation for a thriving shop.

Drawing on his extensive background in nonprofit work, Dixon is passionate about the mental health aspects of the services provided by Hammer & Nails. He and his team select a new cause to support each quarter.

“I love being involved in the community in various ways and have dedicated time and resources to organizations such as the Domestic Violence Resource Center, LEAD with Horses equine therapy, New Frontier Treatment Center for substance use and Crisis Support Services of Nevada suicide hotline, among others,” he said. “We also put on the Hammer & Nails Open, a golf tournament that successfully raised $28,000 for the foster care system of Northern Nevada.”

Dixon looks forward to hiring and training individuals facing barriers to employment, and he even provides mentorship opportunities to young professionals or job seekers looking to enter the beauty and wellness industry.

“Helping to build careers and confidence is a rewarding way to give back,” said Dixon. “When people see others doing good things and supporting them, they want to join in!”

Dixon is excited about the opportunity to build relationships while offering tailored, luxury experiences.

“Owning a business that caters to an underserved market in Reno, especially one that focuses on quality and attention to detail, gives me the chance to bring something fresh to the local community,” Dixon explained.

Hammer & Nails is fueled by a membership model that aligns with Dixon’s commitment to quality services, client satisfaction and repeat business.
