Doing Well by Doing Good
1-800-Plumber +Air, one of the only combined plumbing and HVAC franchise opportunities serving both residential and commercial clients, has been weaving honesty, integrity and a sense of community into the fabric of its company culture since it was founded 15 years ago.
Jasen and Heather Shreiner, early franchisees, started their 1-800-Plumber +Air franchise in 2016 in Amarillo, Texas. Giving back to the community is something they’ve always done and continue to do through their franchise.
“We have chosen to give back to the community because we feel God has blessed us, and we want to be a blessing to others. This is Jasen’s and my ‘why’ and purpose for our lives,” Heather said.
As part of their mission to give back, the Shreiner’s have spearheaded backpack giveaways containing school supplies and bicycle give-
aways for children in need.
“If we have a customer in need, we will do our best to help them with payment plans or by performing work as volunteer service through our employees,” Heather said. “It just really depends on what the need is. Also, we try to make sure our team members are taken care of as well for their families.”
In support, the 1-800-Plumber +Air corporate team has spotlighted the Shreiners’ community involvement frequently over the years.
“Community engagement is critical to our culture. The Shreiners prove that when franchisees step out to serve their neighbors, they establish the brand locally and build the kind of trust that drives long-term success,” said Kyle Smith, chief marketing officer.
Committed to giving back, the Shreiners intend to continue their community work and encourage other franchise owners to do the same.
“I think business owners should do what they feel is right,” explained Heather. “None of this is done for publicity or anything on our part; we truly see a need and want to share with others. We love people and want to see everyone succeed in life. If we can be a small part of that in others, we have fulfilled our purpose.”
