Nick and Patty Thompson of Lubbock, Texas, recently celebrated their first anniversary in business with Fundraising University and they couldn’t be more enthusiastic about the future.

The Thompsons purchased three Fundraising University territories last year. They’re thrilled to partner with a growing brand and to share in the company’s mission of supporting kids and coaches.

“We wanted something that allowed us to be involved in the community and feel good at the end of the day,” Nick said.

Fundraising University, the country’s leading national fundraising company, runs effective, hands-on fundraisers designed to maximize time and profits for youth organizations. Since 2009, it has raised more than $119 million for teams across the U.S.

For the Thompsons, parents of three boys, working with kids is a dream come true. They both initially pursued degrees in education, but as they approached graduation, they became concerned about job opportunities as a result of 30,000 teacher layoffs announced in their area. Nick decided to pivot to business management and spent 13 years in the corporate world.

But the long hours weren’t conducive to family life and he couldn’t participate in his kids’ activities. In search of flexibility and freedom, the couple explored franchising. And now, with Fundraising University, they’ve come full circle to live the life they always wanted.

Plus, with the ongoing support of Mike Bahun, president of Fundraising University, the Thompsons feel energized and inspired.

To add to their satisfaction, the couple makes an outstanding business team.

“We work really well together,” Patty said. “We each have our strengths that we’re good at and we complement each other.”

Nick enjoys presenting and managing sales while Patty prefers handling the backend operations.

With a 100% campaign re-sign rate, the Thompsons remain delighted with their decision.

“We wouldn’t change a thing. We’d do it over again tomorrow,” Nick said.
