The best franchisors have strong leadership skills and are passionate about their brand while being supportive and flexible for their franchise owners. But that’s not all. CEO and President of FranServe Alesia Visconti added important components to that list.
“I encourage leaders to strive for wealth for other people: their franchisees, employees, vendors, etc.,” she said. “Focusing on ‘doing well by doing good’ builds culture, synergy and camaraderie. One of my favorite quotes is: ‘A rising tide lifts all boats.’ A leader is only ever as good as her/his team, and ‘team’ extends to a lot of individuals!”
We wanted to hear more about what it takes to be a successful franchisor, so we asked several of FranServe’s top franchisor partners what contributes to their success. Here are just some of the highlights:
“What makes a successful franchisor is alignment between the franchisee and franchisor on the goals and objectives and understanding the roles and working relationship between the franchisee and franchisor. A franchisor leads by focusing on franchisee profitability.”
Tom Wood
CEO and president, Floor Coverings International®
“At SMB Franchise Advisors, when we work with an emerging brand, we truly bring them into our family of brands. We want them to grow through franchising, so we always start with our mission, which is to educate, support and launch their brand with all the right training and materials in place to compete with those already established in their industry. Then, we go beyond the essentials of operations and the FDD, making them think deeply about the brand’s future.”
Frank A. Closurdo
Director of business development, SMB Franchise Advisors
“It’s really simple: What makes a franchisor successful is happy and profitable franchisees. Focusing on franchisee satisfaction and providing an incredible experience for franchisees over franchisor profits will accelerate and enhance the way a franchise system operates and grows. This is why, at Rolling Suds, we call ourselves a ‘franchisee company’ instead of a franchisor. If we are a franchisee company, it is very clear what we do: We provide services and support to franchisees to help them grow their business. If our franchisees are happy, we are happy.”
Aaron Harper
CEO, Rolling Suds
“After years leading teams and having great examples of leaders to learn from, I have found a quote by C. Hilton to be true: ‘Success seems to be connected with action. Successful people keep moving. They make mistakes, but they don’t quit.’ The road to success is always under construction. Results happen over time, not overnight. Work hard, stay consistent and be patient.”
Emma Dickison
CEO and president, Home Helpers®
“Synergy. Alignment. Responsible. Horsepower Brands is here to support not just sell.
