When Victor Pariona served in the U.S. Army National Guard, he found it challenging to locate a job that allowed him to fulfill his commitment to the military and have some time to spend with his family. After some searching, Pariona’s wife, Laura, found Deer Solution – an all-natural deer repellent service – and an interview was scheduled right away. Little did Victor know that the interview would turn into 10 years of employment at the corporate level and an invaluable business opportunity.

“When I went for an interview, I met with [president and founder] Kris Goodrich. I knew right away I had found a company that was low-key and family-oriented, and it was the right call. I had expected to be there for just a few months at the time, and now, 10 years later, here I am owning and operating my own Deer Solution business,” said Pariona. Although he was grateful for his job opportunity in corporate, Pariona looked forward to even greater freedom and control of his life. He took the plunge and opened his franchise in April 2022.

A Deer Solution business offers complete flexibility by allowing franchisees to create their own schedules and grow their businesses in a way that fits their lifestyle. Pariona operates three territories in and around Princeton, New Jersey, and expects significant growth in the business this year.

“It is a great location, not only for me and my family but also for the company,” said Pariona. “I always aspire to move ahead and make sure that the Deer Solution name is held to a higher standard. It makes my job a lot easier knowing what Deer Solution has brought to the table with its results.”

The continued support from Pariona’s family has reassured him that owning his franchise was the right choice for them. “Recently, my daughter drew a picture for Father’s Day of a deer, and underneath it said, ‘Happy Father’s Day.’ It means a lot to me that my family is part of this business, and as long as they give me the approval and do not say, ‘Dad, you are not spending enough time with me,’ I know I have made the right choice.”
