As loved ones grow older and need more assistance, it can be challenging for families to find the right support. Oftentimes, it requires moving a loved one out of their home and into a 24/7 care facility. The Wallace family, however, makes that transition easier.
Fred and Kathy Wallace have a long history of caring for seniors, having taken care of their own aging loved ones. After Fred’s mom passed, they both started working in a senior facility where they learned proper caregiving and heard how many residents wished they had someone to take care of them in their own home.
The Wallaces quickly realized they wanted to help and started working on opening their own senior care company. The company immediately took off, but they needed more support to meet the needs of their growing client base. As they were looking for employees, they discovered Caring Senior Service in Canton, Ohio, was for sale. Fred and Kathy, along with their son, Mitch, jumped on the opportunity to become a franchisee.
With 30-plus years of leadership in the senior care industry, Caring Senior Service has become a trusted name in over 50 communities nationwide. The company provides several services, including personal care, transportation, companionship, errands services and light housekeeping to help seniors remain happy, healthy and at home.
One of the key differentiators that sets Caring Senior Service apart is the personal connections formed with clients.
“Most companies don’t even know who they employ or service, let alone meet clients,” said Kathy. “We are so compassionate and try to match personalities to suit their needs. We work with them the whole time we are there, engaging them in all the activities we perform to help them feel empowered and give them a sense of control.”
In under a year, Caring Senior Service of Canton has grown to a team of 25 employees servicing over 20 clients, and they’re already changing lives. In just three months, a fully bedbound client is now standing and walking on her own again, thanks to the care and compassion from the team.
