BrightStar Care® is a nationwide franchise that provides a higher standard of quality in-home care. In December 2021, the brand commissioned Avalere Health to conduct a study that measured the client outcomes and cost benefits of BrightStar Care. This data has been historically difficult for personal-care agencies to gather. The results of the analysis suggest that the interventions BrightStar Care provides were correlated with lower rates of inpatient admissions, emergency department visits, and home-health and skilled-nursing facility utilization for clients diagnosed with certain chronic conditions.

“BrightStar Care is committed to providing clients with a higher standard of home care. As such, we built our personal-care model around a clinical platform with RN-led care teams operating under Joint Commission standards,” said Shelly Sun, CEO and founder.

BrightStar Care differentiators

Nurse-led care: BrightStar Care provides each client with personalized nurse-led care. Each client has a registered nurse assigned to their care plan who oversees their treatment. These registered nurses also offer mentorship and training to caregiving staff of BrightStar Care.

Joint Commission accreditation: BrightStar Care is the only national home-care franchise to receive The Joint Commission’s Enterprise Champion for Quality award every year since the award’s inception. More than 95% of BrightStar Care agencies are Joint Commission accredited – the gold standard within health care.

Multiple revenue streams: Aside from home care, BrightStar Care also offers medical staffing and holds national contracts across distinct patient populations, allowing franchisees uncapped earning potential. As part of its medical staffing services, BrightStar Care provides staffing to hospitals and doctors’ offices. BrightStar Care also holds national contracts with government agencies, workers’ compensation administrators, specialty pharmacies, and other sectors that rely on their services.

When considering franchise ownership, these differentiators, combined with the key findings by Avalere Health, provide a significant value proposition, making BrightStar Care a leader in in-home care.
