Looking back, Ace Handyman Services has experienced impressive growth, from 119 territories in 2019 to 311 territories today. This also has led to increased hiring at the corporate office during the pandemic. Even with its significant growth, Ace Handyman Services has not jeopardized its culture of giving.

In April, Ace Handyman Services had its first all-staff in-person meeting since the beginning of the pandemic. Instead of discussing profit margins or reviewing job responsibilities, the brand partnered with Wish for Wheels to gift bikes and helmets to second-graders from low-income communities.

“This was a unique way for us to give back to our community as a team, and we can’t wait to do it again. Seeing the faces of the kids when they were presented with their new wheels was heartwarming,” shared Rebecca Harris, operations assistant at Ace Handyman Services.

The service-based brand participates in community service events for disabled veterans and the elderly throughout the U.S. “We encourage our franchisees to find small projects within their local communities to give of their time, labor and materials,” said Colette Bell, vice president of franchise development.

Stephen Lutter, a franchise owner in Buffalo, New York, is a prime example of the good that comes out of giving back. Lutter and his team have provided over $60,000 of pro bono work since May 2021 by partnering with organizations such as Open Buffalo and Saving Grace Ministries. Most recently, Lutter partnered with Special Spaces Buffalo to renovate a young boy’s bedroom to look like a basketball court. “We find these projects by networking within the local community. We also take on jobs when we provide free estimates and realize the customers don’t have the ability to pay,” Lutter said.

Ace Handyman Services also works closely with Children’s Miracle Network and will be participating in its Round Up for the Kids campaign in August. “Instead of having our customers contribute, Ace Handyman Services will be donating on their behalf by adding $1 per ticket for the entire month of August,” Bell said. “This is what we expect. This is our culture.”
