Anthony Spagnola, chief development officer (CDO) of Oakscale Franchise Partners and Break Coffee Co. franchisee, stumbled into franchising 15 years ago while working for a tech startup in New York City. He started attending franchise conferences and expos to sell loyalty solutions to franchises.
“I first landed a sales leadership position running FranchiseHelp, connecting candidates to franchise brands,” explained Spagnola. “I later went out on my own as an independent franchise consultant, started a franchise company with friends and eventually became a multi-unit franchise operator.”
His passion for franchising continued to grow, and he moved to Omaha, Nebraska, to join the development group at Horsepower Brands. He was promoted from director to vice president, overseeing three brands and proudly awarding over 130 franchisees and 450 territories nationwide.
As CDO at Oakscale, Spagnola is committed to building a world-class franchise development team dedicated to the healthy and sustainable growth of brands.
“We only partner with brands we would sell to our friends and family,” explained Spagnola. “Break Coffee is a prime example of the ideal brand. It is low risk, offers high margins and recurring revenues, and it is the perfect side hustle with superior growth potential.”
The more he learned about Break Coffee Co., the clearer it became that personally investing in the franchise was the ideal next step.
“I thought it was a no-brainer for my wife Dominika and me,” said Spagnola. “It was the first time she was as excited about a venture as I was. We both love coffee and working with people and really like operational independence.”
In addition to offering quality products and a white glove service, Break Coffee is a cleaner, more sustainable solution for the workplace.
“We offer a very simple model,” said Spagnola. “Corporate takes care of billing, collections and coffee distribution so franchisees can focus on sales and customer service while enjoying flexible schedules.”
Spagnola’s franchising and development goals focus on growth, reputation and steady machine placements.
“We want Oakscale to represent the fastest-growing brands with the happiest franchisees,” he said. “We have a handful of great brands in our portfolio today, but we’ll be looking to add more in 2026 and beyond.”
