Teach, Plan & Play: How One Franchisee Shapes Young Lives
Before becoming a franchise owner of the South Denver Creative Kids Movement Network location, Mona Hinman-Briscoe built a seasoned career as an operations manager in training and management at a corporate communications company. Then, like many others, Hinman-Briscoe’s job role shifted toward using AI. She watched many of her coworkers get laid off, so she began exploring new opportunities.
In April 2025, she discovered Creative Kids Movement Network, a franchise focused on bringing dance, yoga and fitness programs to daycares and schools. This was a natural fit for Hinman-Briscoe, thanks to her background as an active yoga and cycling fitness instructor. With the last of her three children moving away, working with children provided a rewarding opportunity. When she learned she would be laid off in July 2025, she reached out to the company and began the process of buying a franchise.
Currently, she teaches three to seven classes a day in her South Denver community and has already seen the impact on her students.
“Seeing them smile, seeing them learn different moves or different breath work – it’s cute,” Hinman-Briscoe said. “I get a lot of feedback from the teachers or from the parents who say, ‘Oh, they’re coming home and they’re showing us these dance moves,’ or, ‘They’re coming home and saying, ‘Peace begins with me.’ Or they say, ‘Look at my mountain climbers!’”
Her day includes a mix of teaching, planning and community outreach.
Here’s what Hinman-Briscoe’s typical day as a franchisee looks like:
- 9 a.m. Hinman-Briscoe heads to her first Creative Kids Movement Network class, carefully setting up the space and preparing for the day’s excitement.
- 10 a.m. While commuting to her next location, Hinman-Briscoe uses the time to mentally prepare for the upcoming class.
- 12 p.m. She takes a mid-day break and heads out to prospect at local daycares and schools – building relationships to expand her reach.
- 2 p.m. Refueled and ready, Hinman-Briscoe is off to teach her last two classes of the day.
- 4:30 p.m. Hinman-Briscoe finishes her final Creative Kids class and ends her day with her other passion, teaching adult fitness classes.
