The Feel Goodz Movement Is More Than a Motto
Contributing to the community is a principle that has been baked into the DNA of Corporate Cleaning Group from the very beginning. Their giving back program was given the name “Feel Goodz” by Founder Len Yakuber. It was his mission to deliver these “feel goodz” to uplift the communities the brand impacts.
“It started off specifically out of our corporate Michigan office, and then we have branched that out to all of our franchisee offices, showing them what we did and leading by example, the right opportunities to deliver the ‘feel goodz,’” said Vice President of Franchising Andrea Lilly.
For instance, in celebration of the back-to-school season, the Corporate Cleaning Group corporate office brought an ice cream truck to one of its school clients to provide sweet treats for the teachers. Additionally, the company is a member of the Michigan Ambulatory Surgery Association and arrived at one of its meetings with a trailer featuring a flower bar, allowing members to assemble and take-home bouquets.
Through these acts of community service at the corporate level, Corporate Cleaning Group encourages its franchisees to spread the ‘feel goodz’ to their local communities as well. In North Carolina, Southeast Charlotte franchisee Tom Tymann has been actively engaged in his community for many years, especially through his local Liberty Networking group. Through Liberty Networking, Tymann learned about the Home Again Foundation, an organization that provides housing to those who are experiencing homelessness or at risk of experiencing homelessness. Alongside his networking group members, Tymann was able to raise money for the foundation through several social fundraisers.
“He’s one of those guys that just goes all in with his whole heart,” said Lilly of Tymann. “In my perspective, he goes all in. He genuinely is just a kind, caring, giving individual. We’ve been working out of our Michigan corporate franchise to deliver those ‘feel goodz’ and introduce that to our franchisees to use as well – to go and help keep them engaged, like Tom, in their communities.”
Delivering all these ‘feel goodz’ has strengthened the company from within as well – deepening its connection to the community while positively impacting the employees and franchisees who are part of its family. It has fostered a sense of pride and connection in the work of employees and franchisees while helping make the communities they serve better and happier places to live.
“Our culture is second to none,” said Lilly. “We don’t just talk about it. We don’t just throw core values up on a wall. We live it and we breathe it. In every interaction with our franchisees, we are always building trust, always supporting them. The culture that we were able to create at the corporate level just naturally feeds out into the fabric of our franchisees because we model it, we live it, we emulate it every single day and in every interaction with our franchisees. I think that makes them feel good and boosts them, empowers them.”
