According to Forbes magazine, adding any storage, from a simple kitchen pantry to a magnificently appointed bedroom closet, can increase the value of a home. It’s a fact that Leo Goldberger and Curt Swanson leveraged to launch Clozetivity, the A-to-Z storage solution company.

“You move into your dream house, and you want a pool; you’re going to say, ‘It’s $40,000; I’ll wait a year.’ If you want a back porch, you’ll wait a year. Closets? Nobody wants to live out of suitcases when they move in. People live for closets,” explained Goldberger, CEO.

And Clozetivity is so much more than your average closet company. The franchise is transforming all kinds of spaces – think mudrooms, laundry rooms, garages, etc. – in residential, commercial and industrial areas, at affordable prices. As a result, opportunities for franchisees are endless.

“The demand for it is so strong. Closets are not a seasonal business. This business works everywhere,” said Goldberger, who pointed out that their work isn’t limited to new home construction but extends to older homes where people want to add or redesign closets.

Plus, with Clozetivity’s proprietary technology and exclusive mill, the options to customize spaces go way beyond shelving. “There are so many beautiful things we do: laundry baskets and shoe trays with lighting and without lighting, jewelry boxes. With our machinery, it’s all laser-cut, and we can cut it any way you want, so it’s a really exciting business,” said Swanson.

The brand has quickly built momentum. In just a little over a year, Clozetivity has multiplied to over 50 locations across the U.S. and counting.

With massive layoffs hitting the corporate world, Goldberger noted that many have lost confidence in job security and workplace guarantees. Clozetivity solves this for potential entrepreneurs in a booming industry projected to reach $3.4 billion in 2023, according to Freedonia Group, which provides market research and industry trends.

“There’s never been a better time – not so much a better time but a more important time – than now to buy a business,” he said.

There are low overhead costs – you can get a Clozetivity location for significantly less than $100,000 – and there is a potential to make high profits, even soon after opening. “We have people who made close to $2 million in their first year in sales. We have a whole bunch who did way over $500,000,” Goldberger said.

The CEO attributes stellar training and support to part of his franchisees’ successes. “This is actually where we shine. We have our own 10,000-square-foot-plus training center. It starts off with three days of training, where we teach you everything,” he said. Franchise owners also are introduced to Clozetivity’s exclusive manufacturing facilities and state-of-the-art machinery at the training center.

Then, new owners visit other franchisees to see how jobs work in real time, from estimates and consultations to final installations. In addition, the expansive staff at the corporate office, including an in-house design specialist, assists with acquiring everything a new business needs, from machinery to Clozetivity-branded vans.

But as Goldberger affirmed, “The fun part begins after you’re already in business with us.”
