Jabz Boxing Sets Even Higher Standards With its Rebranding
Since 2013, Jabz Boxing has set itself apart from other boxing-based concepts. Shaking up the fitness industry with its dynamic, full-body workouts, Jabz Boxing breaks the mold of outdated, regimented exercises.
Instead of offering a simplified workout consisting of combos on one type of punching bag, every Jabz studio has six different bags that are incorporated into all classes, including speed bags during the warm-up session, four bags around the ring, and Torrent bags around the room. Although people may envision bloody lips and broken bones when they think of boxing, the only thing Jab Boxing clients break during a workout is a sweat.
“We mix everything. We integrate boxing into the workout and focus on fitness, not fighting. You are never squaring up against an opponent. We are teaching you all of the different punch combinations and skills and incorporating kicks in there as well,” explained Erin Seaboyer, vice president of franchise services. Due to the nature of the workout, clients can come in with any fitness background and gain the benefits of a session tailored to fit their goals and needs.
With its recent rebranding, Jabz Boxing has turned to its clients and franchisees, or network partners, for input to refine its processes. Two updates the brand has rolled out use technology to enhance clients’ experiences and provide support for network partners.
Seaboyer shared the research that Jabz Boxing is completing to provide clients with even greater services. “We are looking into offering a tracker with boxing-
specific technology. It measures things like your punch count, accuracy, and the power behind your punches. It is something that has not been done in the U.S. in the boutique fitness industry, and it not only gamifies the experience for those who like competition but it also allows clients to measure progress over time with the boxing part of the workout,” she said.
Network partners and their employees also can access a new online learning management system. The go-to portal contains training modules and communication tools that promote company culture and help the fitness family feel more connected.
To provide even further support, Jabz Boxing offers 60- to 90-minute business fitness sessions every month, where network partners connect and collaborate with the leadership team. As a boxing ring that has four corners, the brand has identified four pillars that network partners should understand and maximize, and the business sessions help them strengthen the pillars they need to work on.
“In the meetings, we can discuss revenue strategy, help them set goals with specific key performance indicators, and identify barriers to success,” Seaboyer explained. The brand then uses the data from the business meetings to understand where training is needed and identify what is next in terms of continuing education and what they can do to drive the financial success of the franchisee’s business.
With all the support offered by the brand, including an approved vendor for digital marketing, automated client emails and promo calendars, network partners can dedicate their energy to providing an exceptional client experience.
“We take a lot of guesswork out of running this specific type of business, so they can focus on learning and managing their team,” Seaboyer said.
