A female-founded, in-home care agency that helps meet the health-care needs of senior citizens and other adults, 1Heart Caregiver Services is poised for growth and expansion. With the American Hospital Association reporting that 2.3 million more health-care workers will be needed by 2025, 1Heart is ready to assist an aging population and give families peace of mind.
“We have run our corporate locations for the past 15 years, which means that our programs and campaigns are tested before we implement them,” said Randolph Clarito, vice president of franchise development. “We know the trends in the industry, and we know how to adapt with the changing market. As a result, corporate-opened locations will grow this year by 35% to 40%, and the total franchise group will be at 60% to 70% growth compared to 2020.”
CEO and founder Belina Calderon-Nernberg is the backbone of the California-based brand that is rooted in compassion. She is assisted by a team of knowledgeable and experienced professionals and has been lauded for her leadership and ability to pivot, especially during the pandemic. “At the beginning of the pandemic, Belina knew what to do to keep our clients and caregivers safe,’’ Clarito said. “We were able to prove to the communities that we serve that we can be relied on.’’ Group revenue measured 22.7% growth compared to 2019 because of that, he said.
Calderon-Nernberg, who studied economics in her homeland in the Philippines, said she was influenced by her mother’s drive and business acumen. In addition to wanting to leave a corporate job that was restricting her potential, Calderon-Nernberg wanted to make a difference.
“Initially, my motivating factor to go into this business was the income potential,” she said. “What made me stay in the business and grow it was the fact that I was able to help take care of seniors.”
1Heart has become so popular that franchise applications, including those for master franchisees and area developers, are being reviewed from all over the country. Area development agreements and prime territories are still available. A background in health care is not required.
