Christina Peregrym, a Jabz Boxing franchisee since 2016, has a heart for her two growing studios in Phoenix and Peoria, Arizona, as well as for CURE, a nonprofit organization that focuses on conquering childhood cancer through research. In memory of her godson, Easton Barnaby, Peregrym has supported CURE while addressing the physical, emotional, financial, and educational needs of families during patient treatment.

Easton, who was born with Down syndrome and later diagnosed with leukemia at the age of 2, endured many difficulties throughout his treatment. Sadly, Easton passed away in February of last year, but he will always be remembered as a bright light, showing up with a big smile and inspiring others around him.

Having connected so closely with this well-respected organization, Peregrym wanted to find a way to give back to CURE. She turned to Jabz Boxing for support with her fundraising idea. Danielle Scott, Jabz Boxing president, said: “When Christina reached out to us to share Easton’s story and asked for support with her local fundraiser to benefit CURE, we proposed a fundraiser that would involve all of our Jabz locations.” Throughout March, Jabz Boxing studios across the U.S. hosted four donation-based classes a week, with all proceeds going directly to CURE. As a result, Jabz Boxing’s franchisees were able to raise over $5,000 for their CURE campaign.

Peregrym, explaining her motivation behind the campaign, said: “I wanted to spread light and love to everyone around us during what has been a very dark time to so many people. Being able to give back to others, especially to children going through something so difficult, is truly a blessing.” When asked about Jabz’s support, Peregrym added: “I am thankful they were willing to support a campaign so close to my heart by reaching out to my fellow franchisees, who joined together to help raise awareness for childhood cancer all across the U.S.”

Jabz Boxing, a full-body, circuit-style boxing studio, has created a culture where community and giving back are a priority, and the company participates in several fundraising campaigns each year.
