With turnover rates and inflation remaining high, according to Forbes, successful but disgruntled professionals are looking for more fulfilling jobs. Wize Computing Academy Co-founders Venus and Vishal Bhasin moved from the corporate world and have created a clear path to success for like-minded entrepreneurs.
Founded in 2015 and franchised in 2018, Wize Computing Academy offers onsite and online sessions for designing, robotics and coding. The project-based sessions promote 21st-century skills using popular educational platforms, such as Minecraft, Roblox, AR/VR and Python. This concept not only appeals to students ages 4 to 18 but also entrepreneurs who want to invest in a proven model.
“We currently engage with over 100 host locations in the U.S. and Canada. In addition to our franchise locations, we have one corporate office, which we call ‘franchise zero.’ We run the business that our franchisees run,” said Vishal.
“One of our key differentiators is that we fine-tune curriculum and operations in franchise zero. We use it as a testing ground for anything new at on-site host locations and online classes before it gets rolled out to franchise locations, so the execution becomes much easier for them,” added Venus.
Franchise zero is just one part of Wize Computing Academy’s mature system. The brand uses a flipped learning methodology to help franchisees implement methods effectively and efficiently. Stakeholders have 24/7 access to supporting documentation, videos and instructions. They also receive further guidance on regular standing calls with Venus for operations and Vishal for an overall business review, including key performance indicators and objectives and key results. At other points in the month, team members review franchisees’ practices, and feedback from host locations, parents and students is discussed.
With a well-defined entrepreneurial operating system, Wize Computing Academy prepares franchisees for success. The brand helps owners launch with ease by assisting with territory selection – each exclusive territory has an area of up to 250,000 residents – and establishing contact with potential clients, including public, private and charter schools as well as community centers. Since this home-based model does not have a brick-and-mortar location, there is low overhead, and franchisees can scale depending on their goals.
“We have concise and well-developed materials and training to help our franchisees implement a successful business model with confidence,” said Vishal.
