On Track to Become the Fastest-growing Painting Business in the Country
In recent years, the home improvement industry has experienced explosive growth, and That 1 Painter is empowering aspiring entrepreneurs to launch a lucrative, service-based business with one of the fastest-growing painting franchises in the nation.
Since 2011, That 1 Painter has been raising the bar for customer service through its commitment to integrity, diligence and generosity. Following these core values, the brand has quickly expanded to over 250 locations nationwide. In fact, it awarded 143 territories in the last quarter of 2023 alone. Additionally, the company has awarded over 20 franchisees their unique CEO model, which is designed for candidates interested in acquiring five to 100 units.
“We fill a gap for professionals and investors who are looking to diversify their portfolio and invest in something different,” said Jay Nielsen, chief development officer. “At the franchisee level, demand is phenomenal. Our business is a great alternative to the volatile real estate market and has a low cost of entry.”
In addition to the low cost of entry, franchisees are not bound to where they live since no office is required. Most franchisees are able to launch in 60 to 90 days thanks to the comprehensive support provided by the That 1 Painter team. The company boasts a knowledgeable support team of 70 people who are solely committed to helping franchisees succeed.
“We have people finishing training every week and we’re getting them launched,” said Nielsen. “We’re not just awarding territories, we’re truly getting them up and running in 90 days.”
The support doesn’t end at typical monthly calls or troubleshooting. That 1 Painter holds quarterly sales-a-thons to help franchisees close deals within their pipeline and a multitude of other classes and resources to ensure their franchisees have all the tools they need to build a successful business.
“The support that we give franchisees is ridiculous. It’s huge,” said Nielsen. “And it helps us continue to raise the bar and hold the industry to a higher standard. Even after they’ve gone through training, we’re still there to help them however they need and keep them eager and excited to continue the great work they’re doing.”
While prior painting experience isn’t needed to be successful, they look for motivated franchisees who want to make a difference in their community. That 1 Painter’s Paint It Forward initiative encourages franchisees to paint homes for free and participate in other nonprofit work.
“Many franchisees have made the Paint It Forward initiative their very first project, which just speaks volumes to the compassionate and community-driven people on our team,” Nielsen said.
That 1 Painter has lofty plans ahead as it looks to continue its remarkable journey.
“We’ve had so many achievements recently which is motivating us to become the premier painting business in the industry,” explained Brittney Miller, who just joined the team a few months ago. “I’ve never worked for a company that has such drive for what they’re doing but still makes it fun. It’s exciting and motivational. We can’t wait to see what the future holds.”
