PJ’s Coffee Announces Sixth Annual Veteran Franchise License Giveaway

NEW ORLEANS — PJ’s Coffee of New Orleans, the coffeehouse known for its “southern hospitality” experience, the freshest products, and better beans with superior roasting technique, has announced its annual Veteran Franchise License Giveaway, which was most recently awarded to a husband and wife team, Kyle and Jen McElhaney.

The franchise believes in brewing up small business opportunities for military veterans, who are looking to join the ever-growing $100 billion a year global coffee industry. PJ’s Coffee seeks hardworking, passionate applicants who align with its core values of delivering best-in-class coffee with the highest regards to service and hospitality.

In April 2022, Kyle and Jennifer executed a multi-unit option agreement to own and operate two PJ’s Coffee locations within the Memphis area, with the first unit scheduled to open by the end of 2022. After that, the pair would like to introduce about a dozen locations to the tri-state area. Kyle attended the University of Mississippi ROTC and then served as an Army Officer and helicopter pilot for 8 and a half years. He piloted an AH-64 Apache Attack Helicopter, and was deployed to Jalalabad, Afghanistan in support of Operation Enduring Freedom from 2010-2011. He then spent two years in the Mississippi National Guard where he left service at the rank of Major. Kyle then became a military recruiter for Northern Kansas before going to work for ADP, and eventually opening his own businesses.

“I am incredibly fortunate to have been awarded this opportunity,” said Kyle. “As coffee consumers in the community, once we tried the product, we knew there was a need for this. We’re thrilled to be the ones to debut PJ’s menu offerings and family-like atmosphere in Memphis.”

The couple are heavily involved within their community and have owned and operated several businesses. Together, they have invested in high demand concepts throughout Memphis, including a logistics company, a full-service interior design support business and a fleet cleaning business.

PJ’s Coffee Celebrates Veterans, Awards Military Veteran a Franchise License

U.S. Army Veteran Wins Franchise; PJ’s Coffee Set to Open in Stockbridge.

STOCKBRIDGE, Ga.PJ’s Coffee of New Orleans, a New Orleans-based coffeehouse that prides itself on their “southern hospitality” experience, the freshest products, and better beans with superior roasting technique, has awarded U.S. Army Veteran, Michael Adams, the winner of its annual Veteran Franchise License Giveaway.

PJ’s Coffee received more than 35 applications from veterans across the United States interested in becoming the next PJ’s Coffee franchisee winner. After a thorough interview process of all applicants, Adams was chosen as the lucky winner, becoming the third overall recipient of this giveaway. National Coffeehouse will Donate a Bag of Coffee to U.S. Military Personnel with Every Coffee-Bag Purchase.

NEW ORLEANS — For coffee lovers around the country, their admiration and appreciation for their favorite caffeinated beverage peaks every year on September 29: National Coffee Day. PJ’s Coffee of New Orleans understands their passion better than anyone, and that’s why the nationwide coffeehouse is rolling out a thoughtful promotion to help them celebrate the day.

This year on September 29, for every bag of coffee customers purchase in store or online, PJ’s Coffee will donate one bag directly to active members serving in the United States military.

The New Orleans-based company will also make a monetary donation tied to the sale of its “Sunrise Salute” coffee bags on National Coffee Day. This donation will go toward the Fisher House Foundation: a non-profit organization building comfort homes where military and veteran families can stay free-of-charge while a loved one is in the hospital.

PJ’s Coffee of New Orleans Reports Strong Mid-Year Franchise Development Returns

National Coffeehouse Franchise Accepted 11 Franchise Agreements Since March.

NEW ORLEANSPJ’s Coffee of New Orleans announced its mid-year franchise development numbers on July 14, 2020, accepting a total 11 franchise agreements that have or will result in 15 new franchise locations.

Despite the complications and concerns stemming from the current COVID-19 pandemic, the New Orleans-based coffeehouse has sustained impressive growth momentum throughout 2020 – opening six new locations since March. Eight more are scheduled to open their doors and begin brewing within the next 75 days.

Among the eight new franchisees soon to open is Bobby Mounts: winner of PJ’s 2019 Veteran Franchise License Giveaway. Mounts is set to open his doors in Ruston later this month.

Of the 11 new franchise agreements, nine of them come from franchisees in pioneering markets for the brand. These markets are McKinney (Texas), Platte City (Missouri), Columbus (Georgia), Addison (Texas), Orlando (Florida), Columbia (South Carolina), Palmview (Texas), Pensacola (Florida), and Dallas (Texas).

Additionally, as it relates to COVID-19, all PJ’s Coffee locations are operating in compliance with and staying up-to-date on local and state guidelines.

The brand recently launched a partnership with Sodexo, the world’s leading provider of food services, to feature its coffee in select United States Marine Corps bases across the country, spanning from California to South Carolina. Military personnel can enjoy an array of coffee blends in 51 mess halls and 62 “brew stations,” within nine bases. PJ’s Coffee currently operates over 100 stores in 13 states in the U.S., and Vietnam and Kuwait. The company expects to open 35 to 40 new stores this year.

Fisher House Foundation is best known for its network of 87 comfort homes where military and veterans’ families can stay at no cost while a loved one is receiving treatment.  These homes are located at major military and VA medical centers nationwide, and in Europe, close to the medical center or hospital they serve.
