FAMILY AFFAIR

Imagine tapping into a flexible home-based franchise opportunity with unmatched support and diverse revenue streams. Now, imagine doing that with your son.

David Giarusso did just that with Spartan Floor Coatings.

Neither Giarusso nor his son, Josh, has a background in the floor coatings industry, but that did not stop them from experiencing quick, steady growth. The Giarussos, who opened their Austin, Texas, location in February, attest their seemingly overnight success to the brand’s proven systems and support.

Giarusso shared why he and his son invested in Spartan Floor Coatings. “The brand’s willingness to guide and assist franchisees gave us confidence that we wouldn’t be navigating this journey alone. Additionally, the speed to launch was a major advantage. Unlike starting a business from scratch, this franchise offered a structured and efficient onboarding process that allowed us to get up and running quickly,” he said.

The father-and-son team also appreciates that the startup investment includes tangible assets from the outset, delivering immediate value and mitigating some uncertainties associated with new business ventures. This is one of the many strengths of the brand’s established model.

Led by a team of experts, franchisees attend hands-on training sessions at Spartan Floor Coatings’ headquarters in Denver. There, they meet key team members and learn essential skills to help their business thrive. The brand’s support doesn’t stop there, and the Giarussos have been able to tap into those invaluable resources.

“From the start, we had access to comprehensive training that gave us the industry knowledge and operational guidance needed to run the business successfully,” Giarusso said. “Beyond training, the ongoing support from the franchise leadership and fellow franchisees has been invaluable. The franchise’s established marketing strategies, advertising materials, and digital presence have helped us attract customers quickly and maintain steady growth.”

With the Giarussos’ strong work ethic and dedication, they have been able to check off goal after goal they’ve set. Their next goal in an industry that, according to Arizton, is valued at over $500 billion? Becoming a staple in their community.

“Our main goal for next year is to continue growing our customer base and solidifying our presence in the community. We want to build strong relationships with our customers, establish a reputation for excellent service, and increase our overall sales. Beyond that, we’re focused on fine-tuning our operations to make everything run even more smoothly. We’re committed to making next year even bigger and better,” Giarusso said.

And, of course, how much better can it get than working alongside a family member? In addition to being pleased with his franchise investment, David couldn’t be prouder of his son’s accomplishments.

“One of the best parts has been watching him grow – not just in business but in confidence and leadership,” Giarruso said. “At the end of the day, even with the occasional eyerolls and ‘I told you so’ moments, building something together that benefits both of us has made every challenge (and every sarcastic comment) totally worth it.”

Spartan Floor Coatings has territories available in hot markets across the U.S. and is looking for motivated entrepreneurs who want to provide exceptional service to their clients.
