The management team at Signworld takes pride in offering ongoing training and support for its franchisees, but the team has discovered that owner involvement is what really makes the difference.
Veteran owners are volunteering their time and knowledge to offer peer-to-peer support and guidance to new Signworld owners. “We have 15 different owners who are now part of a monthly session teaching owners at a sales level below them how they evolved in their business in all different areas,” said Jeanne Boram, vice president of business development at Signworld. “You know, it’s not just corporate-driven. It’s owners really caring and wanting to give back and invest in others within the network. This doesn’t happen in many other business environments.”
As a business owners alliance, Signworld is continuously improving its training and support without requiring ongoing royalties and fees. “What we do for the Signworld owners revolves around the culture we’ve built. It really is a family community rather than a franchise,” said Jack Werner, president and CEO of Signworld.
The culture that the brand has developed proves how much owners truly want to help others succeed. “They’re willing to give back because somebody helped them, and it’s their chance to pay back,” Werner said.
“We offer lots of training options, from products and sales to technical training, as well as systems and processes, and the main focus is on how the trainees have evolved as owners and grown their businesses. They can really get a grasp on how they can enhance their bottom line as well as their top line,” Boram said. The collaboration and compassion demonstrated by the Signworld team and business owners drive the brand’s unique culture and are the foundation of its success over the past 33 years.
