Since 2018, Salty Dawg Pet Salon + Bakery has been transforming the pet industry through its service-centered culture, which gives pet parents peace of mind knowing their furry friend is in good hands. What makes the brand truly unique is its training approach, culture and human capital.

Salty Dawg developed a process that enhances efficiency, minimizes the physical stress on the groomer and dog while increasing revenue. The company works closely with Paul Mitchell Schools to find capable and talented groomers who hone their craft on human hair first and are then trained to work with dogs using Salty Dawg’s proprietary process.

As a rapidly emerging brand, Salty Dawg currently has three locations and six more on the horizon. The company is eager to partner with passionate entrepreneurs who love animals and want to help grow the brand.

To help franchisees thrive, Salty Dawg has a comprehensive training program that caters to all learning styles so every franchisee can be successful. It incorporates on-site and off-site training as well as the company’s learning management system, ensuring there’s something for everyone.

“We have an open-door policy,”
said President Sally Facinelli. “All franchisees have complete access to everyone on the corporate team. We’re deeply invested in their success and want to support them in any way that we can. I’m on the phone with franchisees at least once a week to ensure they have everything they need.”

The brand also promotes success by helping franchisees find the optimal location. The company works with a real estate team that leverages a mix of technology and boots-on-the-ground tactics to evaluate the local market and choose a location where the franchisee can thrive.

At Salty Dawg, the team is always looking to evolve and find new ways to become more efficient and drive revenue.

“We’ve got a great tech stack that has all the pieces a franchisee needs,” explained Facinelli. “We’re always looking at new technologies and ways to make things more efficient and cost-effective. We’re taking the time to build for long-term growth.”

Over the next several years, Salty Dawg has big plans for growth and expansion as it looks to become a one-stop shop for dog parents. The company recently added bakeries, toys and treat options as additional revenue streams. It’s also exploring ideas like wellness checks, teeth cleaning and VIP rooms so that franchisees have several ways to generate revenue outside of the core grooming business.

On the corporate side, Salty Dawg Pet Salon + Bakery is looking to grow in seed markets so it can expand markets nationwide and build brand awareness to make it easier for franchisees.

“As an emerging brand, we can pivot, grow and take steps to grow that other brands can’t,” explained Facinelli. “We have a long list of ideas and are excited for the future of Salty Dawg.”
