As a multi-platform fitness concept developed from decades of industry experience, REGYMEN Fitness has been dominating the growing boutique gym segment of franchising since its inception in 2018. REGYMEN offers a variety of high-energy classes, complete with theatrical lighting, upbeat music, and real-time analytics tracked on the REGYMEN app. The brand’s HIIT (high intensity interval training) philosophy focuses on intense bursts of exercise followed by short recovery periods to deliver maximum results.

Franchise Dictionary Magazine recently interviewed Leah Seacrest, REGYMEN’s corporate vice president of fitness, to see why this science-based model of studio-style training is making major waves in the fitness industry.

Can you tell us a little about the REGYMEN concept and how it was conceived and developed?

REGYMEN Fitness was born out of the concept: “To end fitness boredom.” Most boutique fitness models offer only one type of workout format that over time can get stale and unmotivating. REGYMEN offers three results-driven formats; including Burn, Box, and Build, which give customers more variety under one roof. We offer over 90 workouts a month, including two new formats: Rumble and Blast.

How is REGYMEN different from your average gym?

Our variety speaks for itself, offering multiple ways to challenge you and keep you motivated. We are also known for our strong community of support when it comes to cheering each other on as we crush our fitness goals. Our fitness community is amazing! Our coaches make sure everyone knows the correct way to do each exercise, so that no member gets left behind. We also display members’ heart rates on a separate screen to keep you in pace with your personal goals. Our goal-specific consultations with our members provide an Evolt 360 body scan, nutritional support, as well as Dotfit supplement recommendations to get you to your goals even faster.

Has the concept proven to be popular? How has your growth been over the past three years?

Our growth has been exponential! There’s something about the electric workout experience featuring theatrical lighting, concert thumping sound and big screens that guide you through the exercises to educate you on proper positioning and movements. We feel like our concept has truly taken a foothold in the industry and is set for continued growth. We’ve expanded into Canada through our partnership with GoodLife Fitness, and are poised for continual growth stateside.

How did REGYMEN survive the challenges presented by COVID? Were any changes permanently put in place?

Our corporate team immediately went to work to meet our members right where they were – at home – by creating virtual and on-demand workout options delivered online. We created virtual challenges to keep people engaged as well. Once our studios were able to reopen, we took steps to ensure the safety and comfort of those returning, with temperature checks, reduced capacity, masks upon entry, and extra cleaning precautions. With things opening up, we’ve loosened our restrictions, however we acknowledge members still would like more space than before. We also have kept our strict cleaning protocols. Changes in our programming to accommodate fewer rotations between stations will also be a mainstay moving forward.

REGYMEN Fitness is currently focused on building its business in the southeast region of the U.S., from Texas to the Carolinas and into South Florida. The brand is actively looking for successful individuals who are properly capitalized and have a passion for health and fitness.
