The leadership team at Refresh Renovations understands the importance of ensuring the right fit for both the franchisor and franchisee. Franchise candidates want to know exactly what the company can offer them and that they will be supported in operating the business successfully. Similarly, Refresh Renovations wants to ensure that all new franchise owners have what it takes to succeed and will add value to the overall brand.

Once on board, owners establish a construction team with valuable trade skills, with the support of the Refresh team. However, running a successful business requires certain key abilities and a strong business acumen. Currently, Refresh Renovation franchisees have either previously run their own business or have gained valuable experience and skills from a corporate career.

“Some people assume that we’re looking for people with building or construction skills, but that’s not the case,” said Refresh Renovations Founder Chris Caiger. “You may have a builder or tradesperson who is very talented and skilled in their work, but that doesn’t necessarily mean they are also a strong businessperson. We need people who will bring a set of business-focused skills to the table.”

“You need the management skills to plan well, hire well, drive sales and deploy your resources effectively,” added Director Jon Bridge. “Coupled with providing great customer service and experience, those are the things that matter. Strong communication and presentation skills are also an asset as well as being organized and hard-working.”

The Refresh model provides the best of both worlds to a new business owner because it offers proven structures and processes that are already in place, similar to a corporate environment. The difference is that as the business owner, the rewards of a franchisee’s efforts go directly to them.

Additionally, the support systems allow franchisees to create a work-life balance. Owners will need to be proactive in managing their projects, but there’s no need for them to work around the clock like many new business owners.

Refresh Renovations has created a breakthrough business model in the home service industry, and it’s transforming the sector and creating a global presence with both U.S. and international locations.
