Before owning his PrideStaff franchise in Northwest Cincinnati, John Gemrich had always wanted to be an entrepreneur. His past careers in restaurant management and financial services created a solid foundation of skills that he could apply to his own business. As Gemrich approached his 50th birthday, he knew the time had come to fulfill his dream of owning a business.

After looking into a variety of franchises, Gemrich happened to meet a PrideStaff franchisee that was looking to sell his franchise. He had worked with staffing companies before and felt familiar with the workforce planning and staffing industry. In 2021, in the midst of the COVID-19 pandemic, Gemrich bought his PrideStaff territory. While it was a challenging time for all businesses, Gemrich was able to turn the pandemic into a period of growth for his business.

“While many competitors paused operations, PrideStaff remained agile, meeting the critical demand from essential businesses,” said Gemrich. “Our strategic focus on securing core clients and exceeding their expectations was instrumental in helping them maintain continuity during an unprecedented time.”

Since then, PrideStaff Cincinnati Northwest has won the company’s Office of the Year award and remains in the top 10% of system offices for revenue.  With a strong belief in the PrideStaff system, Gemrich acquired an additional territory in Cincinnati, allowing him and his team to operate more seamlessly across the metropolitan area.

“Leveraging the collective strength of the PrideStaff system and team, I am confident in our continued ability to provide outstanding service and create significant value across the market,” he said.

For Gemrich, his success is fueled by a sense of purpose for his community as well as for the team he’s built in his office.

“Fundamentally, I believe in empowering our local economy. There’s immense satisfaction in seeing the tangible impact our staffing solutions have on client expansion and regional prosperity,” he said.
