A PayMore Store is reputed as the safest and highest-paying choice for buying and selling used and new electronics, but the brand brings much more to the game, with an e-friendly business striving toward a greener future. PayMore not only helps its customers be globally responsible but also provides smart choices toward minimizing our e-waste footprint. Peter Hall, Fransmart marketing manager, explained the contributions PayMore makes toward the community and the environment. “Just think about how many people out there have old cell phones or laptops that they thought they were going to use again, and they’re just sitting in their drawers. So we offer a good way to get some money toward new electronics,” Hall said.
Instead of tossing the old electronics into a landfill, the PayMore goal is to motivate the public to sell the damaged, slightly used, or brand new unwanted items to a PayMore store to resell. “You’re saving the environment one cell phone or computer at a time, and you’re giving second lives to the electronics while limiting the e-waste that goes on,” explained Hall.
In addition to the brick-and-mortar component of a PayMore Store, franchisees also have direct access to their newly launched e-commerce mega site: shop.paymore.com. At this site, customers can choose to buy and sell from the convenience of their home or in person. “You can look up their stock online and use the filters to focus on one location, which is a great feature, especially when it comes to bigger-ticket items, like gaming computers. That’s definitely something I would want to do – go into the store and see it before buying,” Hall said. “They also offer industry-leading warranties for the products you buy. Many used places can’t do that, especially with electronics. Another differentiator is that they will do a data wiping of the electronics immediately, right in front of the customer, to help people feel safe and more comfortable,” added Hall.
The PayMore founders, Erik Helgesen, president, and Stephen Preuss, CEO, take pride in being deeply involved in the development and flow of their franchises. “Erik has an extensive coding background – he actually created the POS system and e-commerce site. No other concept can use it, buy it or license it, so you have the person who developed and runs your entire system within a phone call away,” said Hall. “Stephen has an extensive history in corporate real estate, so his focus is to help find the location and work with the agents to locate a good, prime spot for a new PayMore Store to open up. You have the tech side and the real-estate side together.”
Hall explained that there are numerous points to consider when it comes to choosing a franchise opportunity. “They are a recession-proof business. Businesses like this prosper when the economy is not doing well. It’s actually beneficial for both sides because a lot of people might be going in to sell or buy used things, yet when the economy is strong, everyone is upgrading or buying new phones, so they want to do something with their old phones. There are multiple revenue streams in this opportunity. PayMore can do well on a bustling street, but it can also prosper in an affluent suburb. It can work in many different environments and territories, as well as different lifestyles and income levels. Another key point is that there is no competition in this growing industry. If you’re looking to sell electronics and get cash right there, there is no other place that can do that. A PayMore franchisee is going to be delivering an important service to their community with a pure product to their customers.”
