For more than 10 years, Painter Bros has been providing painting, remodeling and repair services to major commercial customers across the country. Through partnerships with several Fortune 500 companies, including major retailers, storage facilities, government properties and a number of big-box stores, the brand offers extensive access to these national accounts, giving franchisees a definitive boost.
While Painter Bros has both widespread recognition and respect in the commercial home improvement industry, those large facilities are not the only territory leads that the company provides.
“We teach our franchisees to start locally and build a strong presence in the residential market right from the start,” said Chief Development Officer Bailey Rayner, detailing the Painter Bros business-building philosophy. “Yes, they’re getting commercial customers and acquiring national accounts, but it’s still extremely important to have that local market presence.”
To maintain that presence, the franchise uses FM Flow, a proprietary software that allows franchisees to track how well their marketing dollars are working and efficiently generate valuable client leads. The software also results in fast invoicing and provides convenient customer payment options.
“At Painter Bros, we can track where franchisees are spending their marketing dollars, what results in lead conversion and the revenue that stems from those marketing sources,” said Rayner. “It really is a great help to franchisees, knowing what marketing sources are beneficial and learning how to pivot away from those that are not.”
Additionally, FM Flow provides the ability to track the progress of each job and helps franchisees determine where they’d like to accelerate in terms of marketing spend, sales and revenue. The software also helps business owners stay organized with a ticketing system for high-volume work.
“FM Flow tracks cost per customer acquisition in a closed loop system,” Rayner explained. “Leads come in, estimates are scheduled, jobs are completed and invoices are collected.”
According to Rayner, the FM Flow system is just one of the ways Painter Bros is helping franchisees obtain more leads in the residential market during a challenging economic climate.
It’s part of the Painter Bros mission and goal to provide consistency, affordability and professionalism nationwide. All of the company’s painters are properly vetted and trained, guaranteeing that jobs are warrantied and insured through the company and not a third party. Painter Bros craftsmen also have a reputation for producing prompt, quality work, and a thorough, post-project inspection process is a part of every contract.
“The tools Painter Bros provides help franchisees run their businesses more efficiently and provide exceptional service,” said Rayner. “Our technology is a big piece of that, allowing for seamless work and satisfied customers.”
