For over 30 years, the Moran Family of Brands has been a leader in the automotive franchise industry. Two of those automotive franchises, Mr. Transmission and Milex Complete Auto Care, have seen great growth and serve customers all over the U.S.

Mr. Transmission specializes in the repair and installation of transmission systems and drive-train components. Milex Complete Auto Care offers a wide menu of general automotive repair services, from oil changes and brake repairs to emission repairs and engine repairs or replacements for foreign and domestic vehicles. Like most businesses throughout the country, the pandemic had an impact in 2020. But 2021 is a much different story.

“There are so many new and exciting things happening with the business right now,” said Peter Baldine, president of Moran Family of Brands. “We’ve had five new locations open across an equal number of states since the fall of 2020: Columbus, Ohio; Concord, North Carolina; Savannah, Georgia; Miami, Florida; and Birmingham, Alabama.” Baldine went on to explain that there are several more in development: “We signed new franchise agreements for locations in Atlanta; Richmond, Virginia; Las Vegas; and Durham, North Carolina.”

Baldine was also happy to report that sales numbers have been impressive, “Sales records have been set in 20% of our locations this year already. System sales are up 23% over first quarter 2020, which was a strong quarter prior to the pandemic.”

The U.S. economy is indeed bouncing back from the pandemic, and the automotive sector is benefiting from consumers who are anxious to get out of the house and travel – particularly during the summertime. “There appears to be an increase in the number of miles people are driving, between road trips and returning to their regular commutes,” explained Baldine. “There have also been quite a few stories in the news about the shortage of new car inventory due to the pandemic, which means people are hanging on to their cars, repairing and maintaining them.”

And while the Mr. Transmission and Milex Complete Auto Care brands have been driving forces in the Moran portfolio, the team was hard at work building and launching a new brand: Turbo Tint. Turbo Tint is an automotive window film, paint-protection film, and architectural-window film model featuring unique characteristics that set it apart from the competition in the industry. Baldine said: “Turbo Tint completed its beta test last year and was actually launched last fall during the pandemic. Since the launch, we have signed on franchisees and area developers that have committed to developing 19 Turbo Tint locations throughout the country.” The first of those will be in Florida.

Moran Family of Brands continues to dominate the automotive maintenance and repair space and has no plans to slow down. As a franchise owner, you can have two franchise brands under one roof, enabling multiple revenue streams and profit centers. No industry experience is required.
