“How do I find my caregivers?” That’s a question you might ask before investing in a One You Love Homecare franchise. The more important question, however, is how to find the most experienced and compassionate caregivers who offer the best fit for clients’ needs.
“Caregivers are easy to find, but you have to find the correct ones,” says David Giacobbo, president and CEO of One You Love Homecare. Because this is so critical, Giacobbo’s successful business model includes thorough franchisee training in his unique caregiver selection and matching process.
In Giacobbo’s own agency, a lot happens behind the scenes when matching a caregiver to a client. First, a dedicated nurse meets with and assesses the needs of the client, and then puts together a detailed care plan. Next, Giacobbo and the nurse review the plan together. After identifying the client’s needs, they carefully consider each caregiver’s level of experience, personality and availability before deciding who is the best match for the client.
Giacobbo has found that carefully matching the client and caregiver from the beginning is essential in fostering a mutual appreciation between the two of them and the best possible care for the client.
Caregivers selected for Giacobbo’s staff typically have 15 to 25 years of industry experience. They understand the needs and diagnoses of their patients and provide comprehensive personal care, as well as companion care.
Giacobbo describes the culture within his agency to be “like family,” and he can relate to the challenges caregivers face because he also provided personal care for an aging family member.
As a One You Love Homecare franchisee, you will provide flexible employment opportunities to experienced caregivers in your community. For each 50 clients, a franchisee could employ a pool of 100 caregivers on average. The business model offers a minimum of four-hour shifts in the mornings, afternoons, evenings, and overnight. With these flexible work options, parents with children or those needing extra income have many opportunities with One You Love Homecare. Additionally, caregivers receive monthly in-service training on anything relevant in the industry, such as new policies, regulations or guidelines.
