When guests walk into a Hawaii Fluid Art location, they’re transported somewhere magical. The franchise’s black walls are donned with vibrant artwork. There are plush couches surrounded by potted plants and tables displaying handmade jewelry. Maya Ratcliff, CEO and Founder of Hawaii Fluid Art, has created a place where all are welcome and able to create and showcase their art.
“My father is blind, and that’s where my ability to work with the differently abled came in. We are one of the only entertainment venues out there that can accommodate any ability, and I think that’s important,” said Ratcliff. She explained that the tables in every location are ADA compliant, an ASL interpreter is present for classes, hands-on lessons are available for visually impaired students and sensory stimuli, like lights and music, are lessened for students who have autism.
Hawaii Fluid Art is the epicenter of all things artistic; the franchise offers one-on-one lessons and group classes and is a preferred location for those wanting to gather and have fun at a birthday party or special event. Students of all backgrounds have their inner artist awakened, whether they are using Ratcliff’s proprietary fluid art method, making resin art or participating in a wood-burning class.
“It’s a unique concept,” Ratcliff said. “In the front, we’re a beautiful art gallery, artisan showplace and jewelry store. In the back, it’s a place of parties, where 50 people are creating art every hour, seven days a week. Someone can come into our studio thinking, ‘Oh, I want to buy a ring,’ and realize, ‘I want to take one of these fluid art experiences.’ There’s no other franchise on the market like it.”
Hawaii Fluid Art is such a unique concept that its branded paints, pigments, dyes and resins are launching in some of the most well-known stores in the U.S. in 2023. This absentee model boasts a fast return on investment and high net-profit margins. Locations are available in hot markets across the U.S., with availability in Canada coming soon.
