City Wide Facility Solutions will be holding its annual convention on March 3 in Charleston, South Carolina, where many enriching business and team-building events are slated to commence. During the convention, the company also will make it a priority to integrate its ethos of spreading a ripple in the communities in which it operates. At the event, the City Wide system will come together to host a charity gala to raise money for a local nonprofit. Last year’s event raised more than $600,000.
Another way City Wide gives back is through the City Wide Foundation, which began as a mission to give back to the company’s community, including its franchisees, independent contractors, and support staff at its Kansas City office. The company believes that creating this foundation and giving back to its own community has not only made City Wide Facility Solutions a sustainable business ecosystem, but it also has allowed the community to strengthen and grow.
“I’ve worked at larger companies where again, you know, they have a volunteer charity component of it, but it’s kind of one of those things where it feels like they do it just so they can say they do it,” shared Director of Marketing Kasey Skala. “It’s really a positive experience to see people at all levels truly buy into the mission of spreading a ripple.”
The perfect example of giving back is when the City Wide Facility Solutions CEO Jeff Oddo gifted each employee with a $100 gift card for the holidays. The intention of this was for the cards to be gifted to someone else that the employees knew could really use it. This prompt to pass the buck forward emphasized the company’s dedication to giving and also had a significant impact on employees.
“I was able to experience the joy of giving,” said Director of Franchise Development Adria Hartwig. “I don’t know that if I hadn’t been pushed to find someone if I would have taken all that initiative, so it’s great to be a part of and great to have that reminder every day at work to positively impact someone else.”
