With Father’s Day around the corner, we asked FranServe Affiliate Franchise Consultants, who also are fathers, what it’s like to be FranFathers. While the consultants have different backgrounds, they’ve found the following to be true: Being a FranServe Affiliate Franchise Consultant has afforded them the flexibility and freedom to be present with their families while growing their businesses.
“Starting a work-from-home business was always a goal of mine, and when a FranServe Consultant introduced me to the idea of starting a home-based franchise consulting business, I was extremely interested. The consulting business was a perfect fit with my experience as a vice president of business development, and in 2015, I decided to join the FranServe family.
In hindsight, I’m so grateful I made the decision! Eight years later, my wife and I welcomed our daughter, Brooklyn, into the family. She was born in January 2023, and having the consulting business allowed my wife the opportunity to move into full-time consulting with me and quit her job of over 10 years. Now, we both can work from home and spend maximum time with little Brooklyn. Best decision ever!”

“After a long-term career in corporate America, I wanted to start my own business, control my own schedule/destiny and have unlimited earning potential. After much due diligence, I found what I was looking for in becoming a FranServe Affiliate in 2012 and forming Rieder Franchise Consulting. I was a full-time consultant for five highly successful years before taking on the roles of vice president of consultant development and, ultimately, chief operations officer for FranServe. I could not have asked for more in terms of how my franchise consulting business grew. Freeing myself from corporate has allowed me to focus on what is truly important, being a good husband and father to my children.
I encouraged my son, Matt, to leave his demanding corporate sales job and become a franchise consultant. He joined FranServe in 2022 and operates under Rieder Franchise Consulting. It has been a great experience working with Matt as both a father and co-worker, watching him grow and experience success in his new career as a consultant.”

“One of the biggest reasons I transitioned from my IT professional career to franchise consulting was because of the flexibility it allowed. Most of the work is virtual, as I’ve acquired clients all over the country and internationally. Being able to set my own schedule has long-lasting impacts on my personal/family dynamic. I’m able to plan meetings around family events, including basketball or Girl Scouts for my daughter, Cori. and soccer and T-ball for my son, Hayden.
I used to travel 50% to 80% of the time, missing some important family events. As a franchise consultant, I get to decide when and where I go. The flexibility has allowed me to bring my family along on trips to Chicago and Jamaica. Being present as a father is very important to me. I love that my role as a FranServe Franchise Consultant allows me to adequately provide for my family and create new experiences.”
