Breaking Records and Restoring Dreams
When disaster strikes, Patrick Laurie is ready. The Alberta-based entrepreneur has quickly carved out a reputation for himself as one of 911 Restoration’s fastest-rising franchise owners, and he’s breaking records along the way.
“I’ve owned a construction company and an electrical company since 2016,” Laurie said. “In 2022, we started getting into more insurance-based work. It slowly gained traction, and eventually we were picked up by some of the national brands. Before taking this step, I sat down with my daughters Brynn and Emma, and we had a very honest conversation about long hours and stressful environments. They were incredibly supportive then, and they have continued to stand behind me since the beginning.”
Soon after, Laurie began researching franchises.
“As soon as I found the Fresh Start Company, it just kind of clicked. Their logo really popped out and kicked me in the head,” he recalled with a laugh. “That was it. I was hooked.”
Once he met with the executive team, including CEO Miri Offir, Laurie realized the opportunity’s appeal. Laurie led simultaneous grand openings for his Edmonton and Calgary locations in October 2024 and, within a year, saw rapid growth.
“Based on gross revenue and work in progress right now, we’re exceeding $2 million, which is fantastic,” he said.
That achievement places his Canadian operations among the company’s top performers, and he attributes that success to the brand’s customer-
focused approach.
“We’re hoping to double our revenue every year by jumping into new areas, providing additional services and improving our services that we currently have by just being more customer-driven,” Laurie continued.
Beyond profits, Laurie leads with heart, working with different communities and supporting Amy’s House, a nonprofit that provides housing for cancer patients.
“Helping out the community, helping out the kids, really getting involved is something that I’m so honored to be able to provide – my time, some sponsorship and capital to keep everything going,” he said.
When it comes to his goals for the business, Laurie is just getting started.
“I’m heavily invested in 911 Restoration because I believe in the brand. I believe in the vision,” he emphasized. “Whether it’s expanding my footprint or partnering with new people across Canada, I won’t stop. Hard work really does pay off in this restoration world.”
