Returning Home

After dealing with the cold, snowy weather of northern New Jersey for several years, David Pelletier and his family knew they wanted one thing: to return home to eastern North Carolina. When Pelletier, his wife, son, daughter and son-in-law moved back to the Tar Heel State, they were welcomed by warm weather and a tremendous opportunity.

“We started looking at franchise opportunities, and we came across Tint World and really liked what they were doing,” Pelletier said, adding that his family’s experience with cars made it a good fit.

As the largest and fastest-growing automotive accessories and window tinting international franchise, Tint World® Automotive Styling Centers™ is known for its product and service excellence. Often, successful businesses are driven by core values, and Tint World’s family culture was what drew the Pelletiers to the renowned international franchise.

CEO and Founder Charles Bonfiglio has invested more than 40 years in refining and simplifying his business model so that customers and franchisees alike can reap the benefits. The Tint World team offers support in areas such as construction, marketing and business development, and automated systems help franchisees scale with ease. With the brand’s extensive training program, an automotive background is not a prerequisite for owning a Tint World franchise.

“We had never been in the retail side of business, and the corporate team was able to guide us through dealing with a retail automotive shop,” Pelletier said. “The support and advice from corporate has been a lifesaver for us. We were able to become the go-to shop for automotive styling in our area in just a short amount of time.”

Since opening their first location in Jacksonville, North Carolina, in 2019, the Pelletiers have experienced so much success that they have already expanded to a second location in Wilmington, North Carolina. David, his son, Cameron, and his son-in-law, Tyler Olinger, were awarded Franchisee of the Year by the International Franchise Association in 2022 for being “outstanding franchise establishment owner-operators.” Their Jacksonville location also has been recognized as a Million-Dollar Club store, and the co-owners were given Tint World’s 5-star award for exceeding benchmarks for customer relations, business systems and financial targets.

While these recognitions are a result of the family’s hard work and passion for the business, Pelletier also shared that Tint World’s proven model has made a world of difference. “They have worked hard to set up a system that guides you in best practices in the automotive industry. We trust the ones that have been here and have proven themselves in the field,” he said.

With more than 150 locations across the U.S. and internationally, Tint World is changing the automotive aftermarket accessory industry. The brand is dedicated to franchisee growth, with single-unit, multi-unit and international master license opportunities available, and remains committed to the core values it was founded on in 1982.

“I have been involved in other franchises, and without a doubt, Tint World offers more support to their locations than any I have ever experienced before. They are truly there to help you succeed. If I had it to do over, I would choose Tint World again and again,” Pelletier concluded.
