Listen and learn from Jeff Konopack with Deck Medic, plus hear the advice of Larry Carnell with Benetrends on funding opportunities and, specifically, the Rainmaker Plan.

Currie: Deck Medic, a great franchise name. What is it you offer?

Konopack: Any kind of outdoor wood restoration. Decks are the main focus, but we do fences, playsets, pergolas, wood furniture, log cabins, wood siding. We focus mostly on exterior products, plus, we also offer… (Tune-in to learn more)

Currie: Most of your franchisee’s customers are homeowners. Do you also service businesses?

Konopack: Yes, especially a lot of restaurants that have wood decks. We’re a service company. Some companies took advantage of the COVID-19 experience, and we were busier than ever. Our phones are ringing off the hook.

The other thing we do a lot of is condo associations. They want somebody that knows what they’re doing, and we’ve been doing it for 30 years. They want a company that’s legitimate and insured. All of our workers are employees. Our primary focus is residential homeowners, and often we may be dealing with a management company handling 98 units.

Currie: You also have a proprietary product, and, obviously, that is a unique differentiator.

Our next guest, Larry Carnell, was a former NAE Entrepreneur of the Year recipient, an international and national award-winning franchise expert. He’s recognized as Mr. ROBS, because he helped introduce retirement asset funding to the franchise community. Larry is a nationally recognized Subject Matter Expert, lecturer, and speaker. Larry, tell us a little bit about Benetrends.

Carnell: Benetrends has become the nation’s number one, one-stop funding resource in the country for the franchise community. We’re the only funding resource ever endorsed by the International Franchise Association. That’s somewhat unusual because the IFA has always taken the position to be neutral. When the funding collapsed a decade ago and what’s happened with COVID-19, they realize that they cannot advance the franchise community without reliable funding. In a national survey, they found that we had an extremely high satisfaction rate but, more importantly, we had an extremely high approval rate.

We have multiple combinations of funding resources to help you get approved. We also pioneered the program that allows you to use retirement funds, tax penalty-free, called Rainmaker Plan.
