Chino-Mex, an emerging food concept that satisfies “los munchies” with delicious Chinese-Mexican cuisine, is excited to expand and become a staple of even more communities. The family-owned-and-operated fusion restaurant franchise aims to create an enjoyable dining experience that solves the question that is nagging families across the country: What should we eat?
Husband and wife co-owners Carlos and Erika Castillo created this casual, family-friendly concept with their diverse Mexican and Salvadoran backgrounds and food interests in mind. “I love Chinese food, and my husband loves tacos, so Chino-Mex was born. We want to share with the world the deliciousness of both worlds on one plate. When date night or family time comes around, everyone can enjoy a meal in one place versus not being able to decide what to eat,” explained Erika, who also graces the kitchen with her culinary skills as one of the main chefs at the Phoenix location.
While the scratch kitchen serves tasty meals made from proprietary recipes, including sweet Coco Loco Shrimp, tangy orange chicken, and mouth-watering quesabirrias, which are a cross between a taco and a quesadilla paired with a dipping broth, franchise owners are not required to have a background in the restaurant industry.
“Chino-Mex is open to anyone who is open-minded and ready to grow fast. In addition to never-ending mentoring, franchisees receive 72 hours of training that covers everything they need: bookkeeping and payroll, marketing and advertising, company policies, regulatory compliance and operations implementation,” Erika said. After the onboarding process, which is divided into 16 hours of classroom training and 56 hours of on-the-job training, Chino-Mex franchise owners receive ongoing support with daily operations, advertising, menu development and staffing.
The up-and-coming brand offers competitive franchise and royalty fees. Interested entrepreneurs can get in on the ground floor with a total initial investment starting at $180,700.
