If you’re an aspiring entrepreneur looking to enter a fun, people-focused industry, owning a Bazooka Charlie’s Barber Co. might be the ideal business venture for you. With hair and overall appearance being a core part of people’s identity, launching a business in the barbershop industry offers stability and protection from the ever-evolving dynamics of other potential entrepreneurship opportunities.
“There’s a lot of stability in our business,” explained Owner Justin Goehring. “Plus, we offer a fresh and enjoyable experience that empowers us to be competitive in the market. Half the population needs a Bazooka Charlie’s, which makes it a steady business model.”
As the owner of Bazooka Charlie’s, Goehring has built a steady business through a unique monthly subscription opportunity that allows members to enjoy an unlimited number of services at a set rate. The emerging brand currently offers 18 different membership options and 27 services. Not only does this benefit the company’s diverse clientele, but it also helps build recurring revenue for the location. Plus, Bazooka Charlie’s doesn’t just cater to men; the business offers several services for women and children, which create additional revenue streams.
In addition to the innovative membership offering, Goehring has cultivated an ideal ecosystem that enables owners and stylists to build genuine relationships with their clients.
“Building relationships is crucial in this business,” Goehring said. “Not only does it make it easier to develop a recurring clientele, but it provides a more enjoyable experience for everyone involved.”
New Bazooka Charlie’s franchisees receive comprehensive training, spending time at the corporate office in Roanoke, Texas and in the shop so they can fully understand what it takes to build a successful business. The corporate team also conducts a brand check-in to help solidify values. Owners also are able to watch videos through the app to help deepen their understanding of the brand and answer any questions.
A Bazooka Charlie’s franchise location spans 1,200 to 2,000 square feet and can accommodate up to 20 stylists and barbers, offering a greater revenue potential compared to smaller franchises. Additionally, franchise owners are strongly encouraged to scale the business and invest in multiple units, which is easily achievable thanks to the company’s proven system and comprehensive support.
Through the company’s core values, enjoyable environment and comprehensive training, it’s easy to see why Bazooka Charlie’s is poised to experience rapid growth. The company has seven total branches and nearly 2,000 happy members.
The brand recently received commitment from several potential franchisees and has original franchisees coming back to purchase more locations. Bazooka Charlie’s also is planning to open another location in McKinney, Texas.
“Even as an emerging brand, we have an opportunity to compete with some of the top brands in the nation,” Goehring explained. “We have a high level of care and concern for both our franchisees and clients, which is a key differentiating factor. We’re currently in the middle of an evolution, and we’re all excited to see what the future holds.”
