As a busy mom of three, wife, and Jabz Boxing franchisee, Jennifer August knows all about finding a work/life balance. Prior to becoming a Jabz owner, August had dedicated 10 years in law enforcement to the city of Philadelphia, until she and her husband agreed that one of them should be home more for their family.
When August reconnected with an old-time friend, Kimberlee White, founder and former CEO of Jabz Boxing, to talk about becoming a Jabz trainer, the conversation led to an even better opportunity for August. In April of 2019, August became a Jabz franchise co-owner with White in Ridley Park, Pennsylvania.
August laughs about how she went from working with all men to all women, but she wouldn’t have it any other way. Her favorite time of day is early in the morning, while everyone at home is still sleeping. Since Jabz franchisees are free to schedule class times that best meet the needs of their members, August finds that (with her strong support staff in place) she can balance time for her family, business, and even workouts in her very own studio. August shared how she balances her career with family time, illustrated in the timeline below.
