Crafting Your Cabinet Restoration Business
Business ownership can feel daunting, especially when navigating an unfamiliar industry. But what if you were backed by a franchise support system committed to your success?
That’s the Renew Medic™ difference that impressed franchise owner John Rusenko, a former Fortune 500 media employee who had no background in restoration or wood repair.
“The incredible experience they bring and their involvement is what really impressed me. These are established franchisors who started a new brand, you know? And that makes a big difference,” Rusenko said. “I went to other discovery days and ended up being turned off by the franchise because it felt like I would be working for a corporation instead of learning how to run my own business,” he added.
Rusenko’s onboarding began with an intensive two-week training in Memphis. He received coaching on developing his first business plan, crafting a sales and marketing strategy and mastering DASH, Renew Medic’s operating system.
“For someone who comes from outside this industry, the hands-on training was invaluable. I knew less than nothing about this industry,” said Rusenko, praising Gina Moss, his technical trainer: “Gina is amazing. She’s a wizard. I learned a ton. Got to roll up my sleeves and get my hands dirty. The techs loved it too, especially my finisher. He learned all about color matching. It exceeded my expectations.”
Renew Medic’s commitment to franchisee success is reflected in its fully developed Franchise Success Center and world-class TCB Training Hub. Together, they provide technical training, business development, marketing, sales, and human resources. This support is not limited to the initial training.
Brand Leader Mitch Dodd and Business Development Consultant Meghan Wilcox regularly check in with owners, helping them achieve their individual business goals.
“I would say, as an outsider to someone who comes from corporate America, corporate strategy, corporate finance, I was intimidated about entering something so new, a field that
I knew nothing about,” said Rusenko. “The training and support that I received have really given me comfort and I feel much more confident. At just three months in, I know that this business will be successful. I think the sky’s the limit for how much we can grow this.”
