Building a Purpose-driven Cleaning Empire
After building successful careers in their respective fields, Katherine and Jarod Whipple knew they wanted to create something that had a direct impact on their local community. When the couple discovered the opportunity to open their own Corporate Cleaning Group location, they knew it was the perfect fit.
“When we discovered Corporate Cleaning Group, we immediately felt that their structure, leadership and support aligned with our vision,” Katherine shared. “We weren’t just buying into a franchise; we were joining a family that believed in people as much as performance.”
From Day one, Katherine and Jarod were equipped with the necessary tools and hands-on training they needed to succeed. The pair attended in-person bootcamps where they gained a clear understanding of both the cleaning industry and Corporate Cleaning Group’s operational systems, which helped them avoid many of the pitfalls that first-time business owners often face. The franchisor also provided marketing coaching to help create outreach campaigns tailored to the Whipples’ market.
“It’s the ongoing support that has made the biggest impact,” Jarod explained. “Whether it’s troubleshooting a specific client challenge or brainstorming how to streamline an internal process, we always feel like there is someone we can call. Corporate Cleaning Group gave us the foundation and the confidence to take ownership and grow something truly meaningful.”
Over the last year, Katherine and Jarod have had countless moments to remind them why they pursued entrepreneurship. They recently partnered with Mobile Loaves & Fishes, a nonprofit that is dedicated to serving the homeless and the indigent working poor by providing food and clothing as well as restoring dignity. Through this partnership, the Austin-based company cleans and disinfects the bathhouses and public areas across the nonprofit’s 51-acre campus every night.
“Our cleaners don’t just see it as another job; they understand that their work is contributing to someone’s dignity and sense of safety,” Katherine said. “Residents often stop to thank them personally, and that kind of appreciation is incredibly motivating. It’s a partnership rooted in purpose, and we’re honored to be a part of it. We’ve already been asked to support their next village expansion, which speaks volumes about the trust and connection we’ve built.”
For Katherine and Jarod, their Corporate Cleaning Group franchise thrives because of its people. Their team has grown to 40 employees who truly believe in the company’s mission. The couple finds deep satisfaction in watching their employees grow, take pride in their work and feel like a true part of the team. Many cleaners have expressed that this is the first job where they feel seen and supported. Some have even progressed into leadership roles, highlighting the significant growth opportunities within the company.
“If you’re someone who values consistency, care and …community, this franchise can be a powerful platform. But you have to bring the hustle,” Katherine advised. “Success here doesn’t come from shortcuts; it comes from showing up every day, listening to your clients, investing in your team and always looking for ways to improve. If you do that, the rewards go far beyond just business metrics. You get to build something that matters.”
