In 2015, Gino Villamor traveled from the Philippines to Los Angeles to visit his brother-in-law. While he had never owned a business, Villamor was captivated by the success his brother-in-law had been experiencing shortly after opening his 1Heart Caregiver Services franchise. A few years later, Gino and his wife decided to move to the U.S. and considered the opportunity to franchise with the in-home care agency.
“We were here and wanted to open a business, and our immigration status was the only obstacle we had,” explained Villamor, who received help from 1Heart Caregiver Services to obtain an E-2 Investor Visa.
“The E-2 visa process was long but straightforward. I had to get connected with a network of people, and 1Heart guided us through that entire process. All I had to do was go through the path they set. Without that guidance, it would have been at least three times more challenging for me,” said Villamor.
Once Villamor was able to open his franchise, success quickly followed. With his extensive background in recruitment, Villamor has been able to develop a compassionate, hard-working team of over 60 active caregivers. His Los Angeles location is known for the reliable care it provides, which has resulted in companies expanding their utilization of services. This growth has been recognized by many.
In December 2021, Villamor received an award for achieving the highest franchise growth for the year at the 1Heart Awards Gala. Randy Clarito, senior vice president for franchise growth and strategy, shared more about Villamor’s successes. “In 2021, he registered a sales growth of 210% versus the previous year. For 2022, he is poised to reach a growth of 122%, and he is working toward hiring a client care manager to work along with his efforts to increase business development.”
Even as his business grows, Villamor continues to appreciate the feedback that clients share. “It’s really the unsolicited positive feedback that you get from a client or a referral from somebody you cared for that makes me proud. To see that I followed a process, picked the right person and now that person is making a difference in somebody else’s life is really special,” he said.
