When Carmen Calamia and her husband were searching for franchise opportunities, they knew they wanted a brand they could grow with. They found what they were looking for when they came across PrideStaff.
“When my husband and I started looking into franchises, PrideStaff stood out right away,” Calamia said. “We loved that we could grow a big, successful business out of a single office.”
However, for Calamia and her husband, the business opportunity was just one part of the equation.
“PrideStaff offered the perfect mix of strong business growth and real community impact,” Calamia said. “It gave us a way to build something of our own while doing work that genuinely matters: helping local people find great jobs and build real careers every day.”
Since opening, Calamia has seen firsthand how a staffing business can change lives on both sides of the hiring process. She’s had a front-row seat to the life-changing impact that the right job can have.
“The moments that stick with you are the phone calls months or years later,” she said. “When someone calls just to tell you that, because of the job you helped them get, they finally bought their first car, bought a home or put their kids through school, that’s when you realize how much this work matters.”
Through PrideStaff, Calamia has also made a measurable impact on the local businesses in the Fort Lauderdale, Florida, community. The franchise has helped smaller businesses bring on extra help when they need to expand, hit tight deadlines or navigate a big growth phase without burning out their staff.
“We love being a steady presence in town. Knowing that what we do every day helps local businesses succeed and helps families put food on the table – that’s the best part of the job,” Calamia said.
Calamia and her husband are able to leave such a lasting impact on their community, in part due to PrideStaff’s support. The brand provides specialized support in areas such as IT and complex HR issues, allowing Calamia and her team to focus on what really matters: the people.
Additionally, PrideStaff is heavily focused on innovation, so franchisees always have access to the most up-to-date technology.
“They constantly invest in better technology and ongoing training so that our team stays sharp, up to date and ready for whatever changes come next,” Calamia said. “PrideStaff gives us the foundation to run efficiently today and the tools to keep growing tomorrow.”
Looking back on her journey, Calamia said one of the biggest lessons she’s learned is that success comes from embracing both the system and the people behind the brand.
“My biggest piece of advice is to trust the process,” Calamia said. “PrideStaff has already built the blueprint, so lean into it. Just as importantly, don’t be afraid to rely on the people around you. PrideStaff really is like a family and having a network of fellow franchisees to turn to for advice, ideas or support makes all the difference.”
